Philosophy & Goals
Where our children grow their roots through Korean language and culture
Our Educational Philosophy
The 21st century is an era in which language and culture become important strengths. The language and cultural heritage passed down from parents are precious assets that shape personal identity and a great source of strength for children living in a globalized age.
Andrew Kim Korean School seeks to help students understand their roots through Korean language and culture, and on that foundation grow into individuals who respect diverse cultures and communicate with the world.
Educational Goals
Improving Korean Proficiency
Through listening, speaking, reading, and writing, we build Korean skills students can use in everyday life.
Building a Healthy Identity
We help students understand their Korean cultural roots and cultivate pride to grow into confident Korean-Americans.
Carrying On History and Culture
Students learn Korea’s history, traditions, art, and everyday culture, understanding and carrying on the value of this heritage.
Raising Global Citizens
Building on bilingual ability and multicultural sensitivity, we raise world citizens who can communicate and cooperate across diverse cultures.
Education Together with the Community
Home, school, and community cooperate to nurture students’ holistic growth and sense of community.
We hope our students grow year by year, nourished by Korean culture, and one day remember the Korean school as a warm psychological and emotional space that guided their growth. We also hope to broaden cross-cultural understanding and friendship by giving students of diverse backgrounds interested in Korea a proper understanding of the country.
